Simple to use
I am pleased with this product, the tests are very easy to do - scoop a small amount of water from the pool, select the test i.e chlorine, zero the unit, press the read button while dipping the chlorine test strip in the water sample. The last step starts a 20 second countdown, after which it gives a reading. Requires AAA batteries, not included.

Recommended for holiday let hot tub testing
I've been using this to test a holiday let hot tub for over a year. It's brilliant - super user friendly and gives the precise readings required. Even the little brush has stood up to its very frequent usage.

Good product
Pleased with this. Quite simple to use and now much more confident in the results than trying to assess the colour on a tab.An expensive item but worth it to ensure you are on the right track with your water quality. Its used for our Endless swimming pool.Be aware you only get a small supply of the reveal tabs which are required for each test. So you will need to add this cost at about £17 per 50. I purchased the Free Chlorine and PH ones which for most will be the main tests you will want to take.

Great alternative to using color coded strips
Great alternative to using other color coded strips and peering at them to try and work out what color they match. Here you get a straight forward reading without the peering! I also appreciated help from Bernard Bell-McManus at the Safe Swim company who was taking care to help me understand what the different readings meant, not just teaching me how to use the meter. He was also advising me on corrective actions to balance out of balance readings. Good experience!

Very Quick and Simple
I love how these strips and the safe swim have made testing my inflatable hot tub easier, and i also no longer have bad skin reactions due to knowing the exact level of free chlorine in my hot tub.

Very accurate compared to strips
This is a pretty good little bit of kit, it takes a while to read through the instructions and work out what to do but once you done the first test it’s fairly easy to do the rest. You need a seperate Strip and seperate test for each measure so the testing can be time consuming. However the results are much more accurate than the strips and leave you with better piece of mind that your water is where it needs to be. Especially useful if you struggle matching the colours on the old test strips. The biggest issue is the test strips take 30 seconds do so all the tests. This machine takes a couple of minutes each test by the time you’ve cleaned the pot, set to zero. Put in the water then added the correct test strip. If you are looking for very accurate results though then it’s worth the wait. It’s an expensive unit and you still need to buy replacement strips but it’s a good tool if you use your hot tub a lot. Comes in a tough little carry case. Good quality and good value.

Great for hot tubs and finally getting away from test strip colour matching
I was sent this digital water tester, the Safe Swim Meter, to review, and as a hot tub owner wanting to ditch manual testing strips for a while, I was excited to try it out. What surprised me the most was how far off my testing strips had been. The Safe Swim Meter provided me with accurate readings for Free Chlorine, Combined Chlorine, Total Chlorine, Copper, pH, and Total Alkalinity - if you're a Bromine user it will measure Total Bromine.I discovered that my Chlorine levels didn't last as long as they should because my pH was too high. This knowledge allowed me to adjust the water chemistry accordingly, and my hot tub is now maintaining the perfect balance. The digital display is easy to read, and the testing process is quick and straightforward. No more fumbling with testing strips and trying to match colours! I love how this digital meter saves me time and effort while providing precise and reliable results.Overall, the Safe Swim Meter is a fantastic bit of kit for any pool or hot tub owner. 5/5

Great for Accuracy - However quicker/cheaper tests out there
We currently use one dip test strips in our hot tub and these have worked well for a number of years. When i came across this product i thought this would be a much better & safer way to test our spa water. The tester comes in a plastic hard shell case with a little cleaning brush and 6 x testing strips for different water parameters along with the instruction booklet. The main device is fairly large with a LCD display which provides you with the results. You need to insert 4 x AAA batteries into the device (not included) prior to use.You can test for Free Chlorine, Combined Chlorine, Total Chlorine, Copper, Alkalinity, PH & Bromine. In order to conduct any of these tests you need to select the relevant test from the device menu, fill the small chamber at the front of the device with a sample from you spa/pool water then dip the corresponding test strip into the chamber for 20 seconds. The device will then display a number relevant to what you are testing for. You are also advised to ensure that the water temperature is about 35c in order to achieve accurate results. Some of the tests also require you to rinse the chamber with spa water up to 3 times prior to the test.I have so far tested all the chlorine parameters, PH levels and Alkalinity - i have to say that all the tests appeared to be accurate when i compared them to my dip sample test strips. It was nice to actually have a proper reading rather than just a colour chart to refer too.Having looked at the cost of replacement test strips for this device i am not sure if it is economical when compared to the much cheaper dip strips i currently use. I also found the whole testing procedure long winded and a little bit of a palaver, having to do separate tests and use separate strips for each water parameter just took time and patience - i have to say, for my usage scenario, i would much rather stick to my one dip multi test strips - they work well and i have never had a problem with my water quality when using these type of tests. In summary, this device works very well and if you would much rather have spot on accurate numerical test readings for your spa/pool then this device would be ideal for you. For those of us that want a quick/cheap and much easier testing solution then i would say stick with you one dip multi testing strips. This product would be perfect for a spa rental business where you need to record accurate test results, but for general home use I think its a luxury and unnecessary item that just doesn't make financial sense.
