This thing did it's job well for while i used it. When I started using virtual desktop, that communicates solely over ethernet so this cord didn't get much use after that.The data rate is adequate for using Meta Link, and it will relay power from your actual stock meta quest power cord to charge your headset while playing. It's got a cool LED light that will tell you the status and the right angle connector is actually genius for keeping the cords out of your face while you play.It does all of that. It's good! And for a nice price too.

Update:Customer service has been amazing and offered me a new cable to make up for the faulty one, which works flawlessly.If your planning on using this cable, I strongly recommend just using the charging cable that came with your headset (or a similar one) to avoid the possibility of causing power issues.Previous review:Okay, so I just spent hours trying to resolve a USB connection (dropping) issue that I thought was my computer, but turns out to be a power input issue with the cable. I noticed that amazon had a bundle option for this cable and Iniu's 100W power brick, so I thought, "f* yeah, I won't have power issues!" Turns out, if you try to use the usb-c fast charging ports on it, it's too much power and causes a data connection issue with your PC usb port. Upon using the original power brick from the Quest, it worked completely fine, so I looked at the fine print on the charge brick. Would've been nice if they just included some kind of limiter/resistor in the cable's power connection, but I guess that's what I get for going with a cheaper option.It still works, and means I can link over cable, which was my main goal, so I'm at least happy with that. I just shouldn't have had to spend all night trying to figure out what the issue was, downloading/reinstalling drivers, updating my bios, going through forums, reviews, youtube videos, etc.. just to find out that the cable has a power input limit that I couldn't find listed anywhere.It is possible that my cable has a defective "SmartProtect2.0 chip", or it's just not capable of managing/balancing that much power. Their website suggests a 20W output, but one of the images suggests "24W fast charging while playing". For now I'll just be satisfied with the 18W charging from the usb-a port from the charge brick.

It took me a minute to get it sorted out, but once I did, it serves the purpose extremely well. My use case is this: I use a Quest 3 for racing long League races. Using USB-C gives great visuals, but the USB charging is too weak, and the Quest 3 battery "slow charging" is not enough to get through an hour practice and a 45-60 minute race. I replaced the original strap with one that has a spot for a battery, and that's enough to get through the race, but forces me into Quest Airlink, which (even with a wifi 6 setup) gives terrible visuals and isn't stable or reliable and often breaks connection.This cable allows me to plug one end into USB-A on my PC, and USB-C on the Quest for that reliable cable-fed high graphics setting, and then plug a second cable into a 'junction box' that supplies power from a 100w USB-C charger.Result: Stable, high quality graphics AND a battery that hasn't dipped below 92%, even after 90 minutes of use.The only thing that would make this better would be... one of two slightly different products. Either:1. A USB-C (PC) to USB-C (HMD) version that has the junction box near the 90* end (so you can plug a battery-strap USB-C connector in and still use the Quest wired, which you can't currently do with any of the battery straps...2. A USB-C to USB-C with USB-C 'power tap' instead of the current USB-A to USB-C with USB-C 'power tap'. Why? the fastest USB-A port on my PC is a 10Gb/s port. I do have a 20Gb/s USB-C port, and the Quest 3 USB controller is upgraded from Quest 2, and can manage up to 20Gb/s as well. I'm leaving half the bandwidth on the table with the USB-A connection.

This cable works very well. As you can see, I'm getting a bandwidth of 3.3Gbps. The reason I got that speed is that I plugged it into the highest-speed USB port on the back of my expensive motherboard. Compared to playing wirelessly, there’s no jittery movement or latency; it’s very smooth! The battery won’t drain as long as you plug it into the charging port, and it regulates power well for long VR sessions. It works perfectly with my system (7900XTX and 7800X3D). Highly recommended!

If you want a cheap vr cable that doesn't cost that much other than the stinky low quality Meta link cable that is 76 bucks this is the cable you need. Its long and it works and it slowly makes your vr headset die. Like i mean the battery drains slower than normal which is good! I would recommend it!

I use this with my Meta Quest 3 and it keeps it at 99% the whole time I’ve got it plugged in no matter what I’m playing from DCS to Batman: Arkham Shadow. I kinda with I’d got something slightly longer than 16ft, but it’s been just long enough to run it across the ceiling for long sessions throwing Batarangs or swinging lightsabers. I don’t recall exactly what the transfer speeds were but it was a few GB per second so that should be plenty for the foreseeable future. Would buy again!

This lets me program my Quest 3 while it stays charging. Perfect for my use case. I dunno what else to say about it.
