I just wanted to connect together a smart switch and plug. It was very easy to do this. I used the Kasa app to initially establish connectivity to the devices and then to setup an automation between the two. No home automation is required. I only just got the product so I cannot speak to longevity. I tried to do this with Wyze, and despite their smart AI saying that it would work, I could not get it working. Chatting with their support did not help.

I installed the Kasa Apple HomeKit Smart Light Switch KS200P3 at my shop, and it has been an excellent upgrade. The fast response time is impressive—whether I use Alexa or the Kasa app, the lights turn on and off almost instantly. Now, after locking up, I no longer have to walk all the way up front to shut the lights off—I can do it remotely from my Samsung Galaxy or with voice commands through my Sonos Alexa-enabled speakers. Also, a neat feature is the switches have a little glowing circle when they are off so you can easily see them in the dark. I can also program them via Alexa skill or the Kasa app to turn on and off at a certain time. As an IT professional, the app set up is really nice and well thought out. Should have been an easy install, except the little piece of paper with the QR code for setup blew away. And, homelink kept trying to install. Finally, got the traditional method using the switches wifi worked. Whew!

I have at least 40 of these throughout my house, both the dimmable and the on/off ones. Some of them are several years old. Not a single one has failed or had to be replaced. I very highly recommend them if you want an inexpensive smart switch that that will give you zero fuss.

Replaced all my wemo switches with Kasa! Easier to install and app is a lot better. Price is great for the 3 pack. Would recommend everyone to purchase Kasa for ease of use, install and integration with Apple HomeKit.

easy to set up if you have a nutral wire. I bought them to work with Apple Home, but actually I like the app with them better. More flexibility.
