Impressive build quality for the money
Got this to do an oil consumption overhaul on my son’s 2010 Audi A5, 2.0t. I was very impressed with the quality, very nicely made and seems quite complete, not knowing what I’d actually need exactly. Removing cams and harmonic pulley all good. Having some concern about the pulley tool pin strength, I was very careful to keep the tool fully engaged and flat against the harmonic pulley so all 4 prongs were fully engaged. It took about 4’ of breaker bar extensions to get that bolt loose, but it worked and with no damage or distortion of the tool pins. Sure beats the old days when one would have to rent special tools on a tight timeline to do this stuff.

Not bad quality, but there are nuances.
The stoppers are very unreliable. The main tensioner stopper is like paper and does not fit the tensioner. For comparison, the stopper on the right is of good quality and the one on the left is from the kit. The same goes for the stopper for the oil pump chain tensioner, it is thin. The other parts of the kit are of good quality.

Excellent for DIY one-time project
I had a big overhaul to do on a 2012 Audi A4 2.0T, and didn't want to take out a second mortgage for the OEM special tools. I decided to give this a try and am glad I did. I used most parts in this kit and didn't have any issues with any of the parts, everything worked just as intended. Even the specialty wrench for holding the crank pulley held up to an obnoxious torque spec.

Get creative. Here is why this tool will help you:
This toolkit will help you unscrew the VVT solenoid for the inlet camshaft, lock camshafts in place, tension the tensioner or replace the bent pin to an accidentally engaged tensioner, and/or help you adjust the inlet camshaft to fit the timing chain to manufacturers' specification. It will give you a total heckin when it comes to counter-holding the crank-bolt to the vibration dampener (the crank-pully dampener). The handle is too short, but allows you to attach a 1/2 inch socket extension. In case you didn't know, that same bolt is torqued to 110 ft lbs to the VW Jetta (mine was a 2014). I helped myself by putting the car into TDC and finding a leverage point to rest the handle of the counterhold while having another person ensure the tool was seated (it likes to slip off really easily) as I used a BREAKER bar (not the cheap one, either. you get what you pay for for the important tools) to pry away the insane amount of torque.Biggest advice: Don't do this job without using all of your needed tools for the job. If you need a camshaft adjuster, don't grab the vice grips like your brain thinks it should: grab the special socket and attach it to your 3/8 wrench. You will practically need every single tool in here for a very specific purpose. The only tool I would have liked to have would have been the one that helps measure true TDC. Thank the automotive company's engineers to have timing marks on your 3rd gen EA888 model engines. The entire job took 30 technical hours with this toolkit.Pro tip: lift the engine by the oil pan via wooden board on a jack directly under the oil pan S L O W L Y. do not lift by the lip of the oil pan; I'm remedying a minor oil leak. Do this job properly, with all the proper tools you will need, and you will do this job just fine with patience. Good luck, now, and go out there.

This tool has saved me alot of headaches
Definitely worth the money, this kit saved me alot of trouble when I did my timing chains on my car. The only trouble I ran into was with the exhaust camshaft gear hold down, im not sure if it was a bad design by vw, or a bad design for the hold down to keep the cam gear in place, but I couldnt use the hold down with the chain and guide in place. Aside from that though, this kit is great

Works great and great price.
Much more reasonable price than the factory kit and works great. I used a 2 foot piece of steel pipe to slide over the crankshaft wrench to make it easier to resist the torque from the torque wrench when reinstalling the pulley.

For an inexpensive timing toolset - excellent
This is a cheap (in the Audi world) timing toolset. However, it works good. Had no problems with it. Did a head replacement and timing job on my 2011 Audi A4 Avant Quattro. Everything went well.
