I use this for pencil drawing and for this it is amazing, the light is fab and the magnification is superb , just what I needed. It is a good sized glass magnifier and is therefore slightly heavy. Personally I do not think that the weight would be an issue for anyone really but saying because if someone is quite frail they may find it a little too much for prolonged use.

This magnifier was for use in the kitchen saving me finding my glasses and discovering product details still too small to read. I absolutely love it. Perfect for reading very small text and the lights a real bonus. It's rather large but not heavy and although my husband said it was a ridiculous buy he is now using it to the point I may need another. Definately recommend this item especially for older people who struggle a bit with that very small text on products.

Heavy to handle for old people, if held up to eyes to see more of the reading the whole went smaller. Light was good but overall, would not purchase this particular glass again.

I wouldn't be able to read the part numbers on circuit-board ICs without it! The built-in light is ... well, personally I don't find it hugely useful because I tend to be using it in a well-lit area, and holding the glass extremely near some tiny chip on a circuit board such that the lights are shining *around* the board rather than on it.For my (admittedly rarefied) purposes the lights could probably do with being inside the ring rather than purely on the back, but that would probably ruin its use for general purpose reading, and as mentioned it doesn't really subtract from my experience anyway.It's a fairly hefty thing (even without batteries), and I'm not sure I'd want to hold it up for prolonged periods, but for reading part numbers on circuit boards: it's perfect!

I bought this for an elderly friend who is losing his sight. He cried and told me how useful it is to him.The light he told me makes it easier to read things. So pleased I got this for him!

This is a great magnifier and perfect for what i required. My father has recently suffered sight loss in a pretty major way and was unable to read which is sooo important to him. This magnifier proved the answer as the combination of decent magnification and the light is ideal for assisting him in his reading.
