Biltong SLICED - 125g to 1kg - PERI PERI Flavour (1kg)

Ok, from the start I have to say that this biltong was great. Decent amount, nice and lean so why only three stars I imagine your asking?I ordered the Peri-Peri version and it quickly became apparent that the different flavours are constructed by putting original box standard biltong in a bag then sprinkling Peri-Peri seasoning over it. The seasoning quickly settles to the bottom of the bag and you basically end up eating original flavour biltong. I mention this as you pay a premium price for this product and as such would like to imagine various joints of different flavoured marinated meat cooked rather than a catch all with flavoured seasoning chucked on top of it.

Although I really enjoyed the flavour of this biltong, I would have preferred it to have a bit more spice to it. Of course, the amount of "kick" something should have is a matter of personal preference but this was quite mild. On the other hand; that did allow the beefy taste to come through.As for the texture, it was slightly chewier than the other bag I bought at the same time (garlic pepper flavour) but I quite like it with a bit of chew to it. I do like how they cut their biltong quick thickly. If you only buy one flavour, I would recommend the garlic pepper one over this; but I don't think you would be disappointed with the peri peri flavour.

My husband and I loved this product. The peri peri flavour is great, but it's not that hot if you are looking for something very spicy. I read some of the comments said it is too dry but the ones we got were not. First I got 250g and it was really good, in terms of taste and amount, and you get a quality that you pay for, not less. Then we got two more packs of 250g. One was actually more 'moist' and I prefer dry meat, but my husband loved it. The point is, that there may be differences from batch to batch and some may be drier than others. Overall I thinks it's tasty and good value good source of protein post workouts, or for evening snack.

Arrived quickly and tastes good. I prefer these to the bites as they are a little softer and chewier. Having said that both work equally well to fulfil cowboy fantasies when you chew them on one side of your mouth and pause periodically to spit or grimace.In all seriousness though, I eat this as it tastes good but also as a lean protein supply - can't really fault this as a supplement if you do a lot of sports.

Great product for the price! Mild spicey flavour, dry like I enjoy it. Will be placing a monthly order on this biltong.

This is really nice Biltong - big slices with plenty of chew but in a good way. Worryingly addictive though....

It's fairly good biltong, especially if you like yours very dry. I'm struggling to taste the peri peri though.

Can't really taste the peri-peri. Would stick to the "original flavor" in the future.
