The authors of the book relate stories and events experienced with their own children and heard from others using the methods they learned from the man who developed them, Dr. Haim Ginott . Wikipedia: "Haim G. Ginott was a school teacher, a child psychologist and psychotherapist and a parent educator. He pioneered techniques for conversing with children that are still taught today." It is easy to read and well worth reading for one's own growth and development and to build and maintain a rewarding relationship with one's children and those around us.

Do not be put off by the title (a bit cheesy). It is a must have book! Very well written and contains lots of practical strategies you can use in improving relationships with children and human beings in general.

Great book. Written like a story, changed the way I look at raising my children, through love and respect. Showed me how to get willing cooperation without threats or punishment. It can be done. I have a totally changed family.

The third book I have purchased by Faber and Mazlish. It is based on examples of Dr Haim Ginott's principles of communication (see his book Between Parent and Child) which have stood the test of time. I found it very helpful and easy to read. The principles can be used in all walks of life. Highly recommended.
