Unlocking LaTeX Graphics: A Concise Guide to TikZ/PGF and PGFPLOTS

I like matplotlib, which is in python of course, but I can never quite get it to the quality of Tikz for schematics. Problem until now is that every time I try to learn Tikz, I get trapped halfway between the massive 1000+ page manual, and half-hearted chapters in general books on LaTeX.This book solves the problem above, being super clear, covering the majority of what is needed, and with a broad set of clever examples that illuminate each new concept introduced.There are a few partial attempts already (on GitHub) at writing a python interface to Tikz. I wonder if the author could encourage a Tikz addition to Matplotlib. Then write the same book again, same examples, but everything is written in more "Pythonic" routine calls. Until that time, for now, this book is perfect to learn the key Tikz commands.
