JunoLighting TC1R Retrofit Led Recessed Downlight, Satin Chrome

Since I had increased the ceiling thickness by adding beadboard paneling, the spring clips were a bit of a chore to get locked in. I finally removed the clips, and slightly bent them outward, ( as if trying to straighten them) which lessened the tension, and they eventually snapped into place. I only had to wrestle the first one of five into place, before I figured out the adjustment I needed to make, so the other four went in ( somewhat ) easier. Also one was ever so slightly "out of round' which prevented the trim rim from snapping in, but after removing the housing and hammering back into a perfect circle, that problem was solved also. I love the finished look, and by using LED bulbs I shouldn't have to touch them now for years.

This was so easy to install and the price is perfect. I'm getting ready to order 2 more for my hallway.For people who do this regularly, the next tid bit is obvious, but this was my first install so I didn't know. I replaced the ceiling panels with drywall and used 1/2inch drywall. Found out after that ceiling is generally 3/8 inch. these housings CAN work with 1/2 inch but you just have to push the locks in with a lot more pressure. It will work and you will be pleased!

You can save 33-50% by buying the cheap knock-offs, and then spend an extra 20-30 minutes per light dealing with ineffective clips, and if you're really unlucky, pulling them out one by one until you locate the connector failure. I've been there, and I will always buy these instead. In the end it's extremely cost effective to buy a high-quality electrical component.

this kit is amazing... installed 2 recessed lights in a closet with nothing in under an hour.cut the holes in the drywall ceiling, ran power lines in the attic and fished them down, hooked up, snapped into ceiling, finished with trim. done.update - i bought more and just FYI you want a 4 -1/4" or 4 3/8" hole saw

Can't support its own weight. Very frustrating to get these up in the ceiling and them have them sag enough that the lighting trim doesn't sit flush with the ceiling. I'll probably end up using liquid nails to get these to stay put.

Easy to install.

Very good quality product. Very easy to install. The Juno also locks onto the ceiling drywall easier and stronger than its 4" Halo counterpart.

Installed several this past weekend, Easy install, they seem to be working great so far! Will update if anything changes
