Elementary Statistics for Geographers Third Edition

To be fair, I am not terrific at Statistics to begin with, but I'm not clueless either (I made a B in college). I've read enough textbooks in my time to know a good one from a mediocre one. For something with "elementary" in the title, I found it fairly complex and difficult to follow. The book had ample examples and covered every topic imaginable, but they weren't easy to understand. I had to internet search many examples to receive a better understanding in many cases. More annoyingly, the examples and figures were not laid out very well. What I mean is, the example would reference a Figure or Table that was 2-3 pages away. Constant flipping of pages to correlate the two. Call me picky, but this wasn't the book for me.

Bought it for a class but was useleszt

A cursory glance at the text suggests a decent introductory textbook at a reasonable price. However, the errata available from the publisher is over 20 pages long - so not to be trusted.

The formulas are very useful in time/space calculations and the overall lessons are well organized. The entire book was so useful I bought two copies and donated one to the office. They use it everyday!

Very well written text book. Clearly explains concepts for both basic statistics and spatial statistics. I will be holding onto this book as a reference for a very long time.

This book has a good price, and this book is ok for use.
