This is not the full collection of Arabian Nights, so please don't expect Sindbad, Aladdin, Alibaba stories in this (please note that Sindbad, Aladdin, Alibaba were never a part of the original 1001 Arabian Nights collection but later added on during European translations). This collection is Volume 1 of what Richard F. Burton translated and has stories up to the thrity-fourth night. Burton is widely considered to be the most faithful translator of the Arabian Nights and the research he had put up in collecting the stories is also evident from the extent of notes after the end of each main chapter of the book.Coming to the Arabian Nights, these are incredible tales, tales told in the fashion of an onion, having stories into stories, tales that are purely taboo, consisting of debauchery, liberal description of the act of intimacy and gruesome punishments and hence, contrary to a popular misconception, is not at all suitable for children. The original translation by Burton is written in archaic language and those are not familiar with the that, may have some difficulties in reading. Also, these stories being the stories of Arabia, the presence of the religion in the writings is everywhere. Once you get on with the flow, these stories will not be hard to follow because there are patterns in the stories.Lastly, I don't know whether Fingerprint Publications will publish the next volumes as well in such a good hardcover edition, but I seriously want them to.

Yes good quality book, well put together, enticing to pick up and read, HOWEVER PAGES ARE TRANSPARENT so you can see print on the other side, wish they used better paper

The language of the book is like shakespere old English and hard to understand and read for me . .
