I got this for my partner who struggle with chronic back pain. This definitely seems one of the more sturdier back supports that he's had (and he's had a few). In terms of pain relief, it does provide a little but as his pain can get quite severe for him it doesn't really make a difference. I'd say it's definitely worth £28.99.

For my day job, I do home deliveries for one of the bigger UK supermarkets.I do find after a hard day that my back can feel a little tired.Got this in the hope it would help with that problem, and for the most part it does.First thing I did was remove the over should straps, while these could be useful to stop the belt from slipping down, if you've got the belt tight enough to do it's job, these aren't really necessary.It's easy to get a good fit, as you've got elasticated velcro straps which are used to tighten the belt into place.It does offer pretty good support, my only problem with it is that after a while, especially on the warm days we've had just lately, it can get a bit sweaty and uncomfortable.Overall, a pretty decent support belt.

My brother found this so helpful when he put his back out for the first time few weeks ago, so he's continued to wear this in work to try stop it happening again.

The design of this Fitomo Lower Back Support is unlike other back supports I have tried: the braces, breathable thin mesh fabric of the belt, inclusion of 4 aluminium metal stiffeners in the back as well as 3 elastic ones & the simple single hook & loop elasticated straps from either side of the back.That makes this Fitomo belt easier to put on, supported in the right place by the braces, & after that it is simple to fit of the hook & loop tabs on the ends of the elasticated tensioners on either side, providing the right amount of tension to the vertical centre of the aluminium & elastic stabilisers running vertically up the back of the belt. The braces also keep the belt positioned at an appropriate height on the back, regardless of your body movements.I have found this support belt remarkably comforting to wear & it has provided excellent support for my lower back, which was weakened by a stupid circuits exercise way back in the late 1960s, when I was in flying training: we were instructed to lean forward at the hips, chest parallel to the ground & snatch a light barbell weight to our chest as many times as we could in a minute … this was supposed to make us fitter! My back has been subject to strain periodically ever since! My back gets strained, not through heavy lifting, which I do with a straight back, lifting with my knees, but simply when I make some unremarkable bending or straightening movement, when my lower back, for no apparent logical reason, goes into sudden spasm. I cannot predict when this sort of thing might happen. Unfortunately, that happened again recently, for the first time in many years, & this Fitomo back support has been drafted into help alleviate my current extereme difficulty straightening after I bend down, or getting up again after I sit down; I have to lever myself up with my hands, on a table, against a door frame or whatever else is to hand. The Fitomo back support is helping a great deal. This sort of problem generally lasts about 3 or 4 days, but I am hoping the Fitomo Back Support will shorten the recovery period.The Fitomo Lower Back Support Belt was £28.99 when I ordered it but the price has since been cut to £23.19, making it an even better bargain.

Included in the box you get the back brace itself which is already full assembled and ready to wear straight away – along with a paper instruction booklet which shows you how to put it on correctly along with cleaning and maintenance guidanceI found this easy to put on and easily adjusted via the Velcro waistband. I immediately felt the benefit of the extra support the metal boning gave around the lower back area.The materials used are almost all soft and stretchy. The belt is full of ventilation holes to help you from being overheated whilst wearing it. It seems they have thought about comfort for the person that is going to wear this. Overall, I felt it was very comfortable to wear, even sitting is OKI did run into an issue where I found leaning backwards caused the metal boning to dig into my middle back. It wasn’t terrible, but feeling back there with my hand I could feel that the top of the metal boning has no extra padding and so it was easy to dig in. I found that tightening up the tension straps almost eliminated this completely. But a tiny bit more padding at the top of the metal boning would be desirable if the manufacturer ever reads this.

At an age where bending, lifting etc impacts the back this is a good investment. I use it in the garden and I have some heavy work to do so will be using this . After many years in the building trade my back has taken some punishment, this helps alleviate the pains .

The Amazon advert suggests that you should choose the next size up if your waist measurement is on the upper end of a belt length, according to the chart shown. Its just as well that I chose the next size up - which by the way was the largest size - 2XL - because even though the chart suggests tha it will fit up to 59 inch waist that is not the case. Yes, it fits me but only just! I am nowhere near that size waist.Other than that point the belt is of high construction; feels nice when in position. Only time will tell if it alleviates my back problem. Hence for now - 4 stars, not 5 stars.
