The bed came promptly, folded in half in a cardboard box. It is very light and one person can easily "assemble" it. There is actually no assembly involved as such, just unfold the legs, move the mattress from the bottom of the bed to the top and that is it. There is a sheet of instructions that comes with the bed with pictures showing how all this is done.The mattress comes with a built-in cover. It is very thin (about 2 inches), but not uncomfortable. The bed itself is somewhat springy, and with the mattress on top, it is quite comfortable for most medium-weight people. The bed is capable of accommodating people upto 300 lbs in weight. But it is only about two and a half feet wide, so even people of small bulk will find it difficult to turn from side to side on this bed without moving themselves to stay on the bed rather than rolling off.The mattress has straps that allow it to be secured to the frame of the bed so that it does not slide around on the bed. In addition to 4 corner straps, there is also a velcro strap in the middle of the mattress that you can fasten under the bed in the vicinity of the middle legs.The main problem with the bed, and the reason it gets 4 stars, is that the bed can't be easily folded up for storage unless you also remove the mattress from the top of the bed and store it under the bed surface. The tops of the middle legs are situated such that you can't fold the bed with the mattress on top of the bed, especially with all the straps in place. Doing so would damage the mattress cover for sure, and probably the mattress too. The instruction manual has no instructions for disassembly and storage, so I think they assume that the instructions have to be reversed for this process. The bed is very compact when folded and stored, so if they had just managed to design it so that this can done without moving the mattress back and forth, it would have been a clear winner.
