It got us back to "roughing it"! Definitely worth it.
This is perfect! My husband and I love being on the road and camping a lot. Long story short, we downsized cars 2 years ago which was fine but then we decided to expand our family and welcomed our fur baby. It took us out of the camping life all summer because we couldn't fit our tents & everything plus have room for her to be comfy. So, after an entire summer of cabins/hotels/etc. we decided we missed "roughing it" too much and bought this as a solution. It was super easy to put together and put on the car. Honestly, it was a little difficult loading the first time just because it was new to us and a bit awkward at first. But we figured it out quick and it fit SO MUCH! 10 man tent, 12x12 pop up tent, cornhole, 3 camping chairs, duffle bags, blankets & more. My husband grabbed the "basket part" and shook it hard, it shook the whole car, it wasn't going anywhere! It was super sturdy, light and not to mention super cute. The bag is heavy duty with a zipper all around and plenty of Velcro to keep it closed. It rained on us and nothing got wet. I saw a few mixed reviews about noise while driving, we had none, it was silent. Super happy with this purchase and it's going to be used a LOT.

Absolutely worth the money!
This worked out fantastic. The install instructions were easy to follow. The bag is very durable. We hit a few rain storms from TX to CO and nothing inside was wet. Once we unpacked and took it down, it was really easy to clean. Definitely worth the money.

Very good product but supplied hardware not the best
Took this on a roughly 900 mile trip, didn't have any problems at all. Didn't encounter any rain, so can't comment on how waterproof the bag is.The total package includes just about everything you'll need to pack and tote your items and mount the whole thing to a trailer hitch (2 inch receiver). The anti-rattle plate that's supplied did exactly what it was supposed to do: no noise/rattles at all as we drove along. Assembly was fairly straightforward. My main concern has to do with the hardware. The bolts and nuts "seemed" well made, but the lock washers seemed cheap: thin, flimsy, and it looked like they're made of a poor grade of metal, and I did NOT TRUST them to keep things securely fastened over a long, possibly bumpy, trip. I STRONGLY suggest that if you use the supplied hardware at a minimum you put thread-lock (e.g., blue Loc-Tite) on the threads. Better yet, replace the supplied nuts (they're all metric, so finding replacements may be tricky) AND the lock-washers with more robust ones. Even better, which is what I did, replace the lock washers and nuts with lock nuts (the ones with nylon inserts), and to make life easier replace everything used for the hitch part with SAE (i.e., not metric) hardware; SAE because it's easier to find the necessary items than finding metric ones.Related to hardware, the kit includes several wrenches to tighten the nuts. They're almost laughable: flat, short, simply stamped metal, and I doubt you can comfortably and effectively use them to tighten the nuts and feel that they'll be and stay secure, especially if you use the cheap lock nuts. Get the proper size box or open-ended wrenches, or sockets, to do the job right and feel confident that nothing is going to work it's way loose and possibly fall apart while on your journey. One other heads-up: The storage bag is made of relatively stiff material (which is good; I think it's the same stuff medical examiners use as body bags), but when the zippers are pulled all the way back (in the "open" position) it's very hard to straighten the corners of the bag to get the zippers on their way to closing. My advice: once you get the zippers away from the full-open position don't pull them completely back to the corners when you're done: leave them 1-2" from the corners. You'll still have plenty of room to insert stuff into he bag and you'll also save yourself the hassle of trying to move the zippers out of the corners to close the bag again..Overall, a good buy, with some caveats.

Sturdy, Easy to Assemble, Minor QC
First off, let's all agree that this is a heck of a bundle for ~$210 + tax. You get a steel roof basket, cargo net, ratchet straps, and finally a travel bag. As of writing this review, I have assembled the roof cage and have done a dry-run of fitting my gear in it, but I have yet to mount it to my vehicle/travel. I will update my review if I find that to be problematic for any reason. Some of the rooftop cargo carriers I was looking at were $500+, so in terms of pricing this can't be beat.Assembly was very straightforward. Though the included guide is not the most descriptive in the world, the picture graph basically speaks for itself. I needed to use my palm screwdriver to secure the screws as they did require some force, so it's a good idea to have a tool that will allow you to exert some pressure. There are no tools included with this kit.The included cargo net appears to be high quality, whereas the ratchet straps appear to be a bit on the cheaper end, but still functional. The weatherproof bag is made of a heavy material akin to what bounce-houses are made of, and certainly seems durable enough for what it needs to hold. I would not trust that the bag would do well with any sharp edges or corners though, so do use caution when packing & zipping everything shut.My only gripes, as minor as they are, are acceptable given the price range. I noticed light markings on the steel in numerous spots that appeared to indicate the cage I purchased was either used before, poorly packaged, or handled somewhat rough at the factory. None of these broke through the paint, so I'm not too concerned about it. If you order one of these, expect to bust out a can of flex seal (or similar) to seal up the areas around the screw holes per manufacturer recommendation. An insert the company had provided seemed to allude to the fact that people were complaining about rust, which is something I have no interest in dealing with, so I do intend to follow their directions to avoid that.Overall I'm very happy with what I have so far, and I look forward to seeing how this holds up on the road!Update: I've installed it on the vehicle, and like many others have stated the U-Bolts are far too large to fit the caps on. I've seen plenty of crossbars and I really cannot see why they justify sending such large U bolts - I don't know of any roof rack that would require the length they provide. Again, given the price I can't complain too much, but this issue is more annoying than the others.
