Bamboo Memory Foam Contour Pillow - A Firm Flexible Therapeutic Posturepedic Pillow for Sound Sleep and Reduced Neck and Shoulder Pain (20 x 12 in)

I recently got a new mattress which is great especially for my lower back pain, however the pillows I currently had started to give me pain in my neck and shoulder so I went on the hunt for a new pillow. I looked into every kind of pillow from super high end to cheaper flatter ones, And somewhere in between. I found this one and saw the reviews and thought I'd give it a try. It's been almost a week...Pros-it is very supportive on my neck and shoulder, it alleviates a lot of the pain and I am able to have a good night sleep again. Works awesome for both side and back sleepers. And I make it work when I want to sleep on my stomach. It also forms to your head and bounces right back once you stop laying on it.Cons-(and why it got 4 stars instead of 5) the smell is ridiculous when you first open it. It took 2 days of airing it out to get rid of most of the smell. And some of it still lingers. I put a pillow case over it and that seems to help some. And also the size, although I do not need an extra large pillow and this works great, I was kind of hoping it was at least was a queen size.**update**I felt I needed to update everyone my recent experience with this pillow and company...After my review about the smell, the owner herself reached out to me apologizing for my experience. She explained that my pillow should not of had strong of a smell for a very long. But there may have been a bad batch that went out. She sent me out a replacement pillow at no hassel or charge to me and I was able to keep the original one as well. The second one I got (all pillows will have a "new plastic" smell) I only needed to air out for 2 to 3 hours and it was just fine. The smell is not nearly as strong and it was much easier to get rid of. I highly recommend this pillow and this company. I now sleep with so much ease that I am excited to go to bed. And the fact that the company reached out to me to make it right when I did not expect it was awesome!! This pillow is fantastic my shoulder, my neck, and my back all feel so much better I highly highly recommend this pillow and this company. :)

I've had my pillow for a week now, and I am very impressed. The pillow arrived rolled up neatly in a plastic carrying case. At first, the pillow will have a strange smell to it, but all I did was remove the pillow case and let the pillow air out while I was at work. I have been suffering from shoulder blade and neck pain for about two months now. I decided that I needed more neck support since my old pillow just sinks in as soon as I lay my head on it. This pillow is very firm, and has a contoured shape that will help cradle your neck. I am very satisfied with the packaging, shipping, and price of this pillow.

I wouldn't say it's THE most comfortable pillow I've every had but I wake up in the morning with little to no neck discomfort. I was in a car collision a couple months ago and my neck was always hurting. Having this pillow has my sleeping much more restful and comfortable. I prefer this pillow over my other down and soft squishy pillows. I take it with me even when I travel. Recently went to Iceland for 12 days and we rented a camper van to sleep in. Bringing this pillow was a must so that I could sleep well and my neck could be comfortable.

I have a herniated disk in my neck and have suffered with neck pain and numbness in my hands. I sleep on my side and that's the most comfortable position but from time to time I do sleep on my back. I could never find a pillow that was comfortable and tried at least 10 different pillows. I knew I needed something semi firm that would hold its shape at night. At first this pillow seemed awkward and strange but after a few good nights sleep I realized that this pillow had relieved my hand and arm numbness. You can flip the pillow for the higher or lower elevation. I would also recommend getting the larger size rather than the 12 inch size. The 12 inch size might be good for a child or a really small person. I'm 5'4 and 120 lbs and the small one seems too small. If you pillow seems odd to you, give it a try for a week and see if you find it comfortable. It may not be for everybody but it definitely provides good stable support that isn't too firm and really helps to keep your neck from getting over extended. This pillow has really changed my life. BTW, I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and bought a My Pillow and took it back. It's garbage! It's a lumpy pillow that does not hold its shape and I'm baffled as to why so many people love it.

I love the contour pillows. I've used them for years. I was excited to order this because I needed a new one. So after unrolling out of the packaging, despite being memory foam, there was no real small or new foam weirdness odor. Was ready to use soon after and I tried sleeping with it for a month or so.My experience was that the smallest side of the contour was still too elevated for a neutral posturing of my neck as I lay on my back. Sleeping on my side was still a little high but more manageable in terms of height but I found that the firmness of the pillow itself cause my ears to get sore as the pressure stayed constant. Essentially there was no angle or configuration I could use to get a comfortable contouring fit to my neck/head.This issue is probably mine and mine alone. The build quality is very sturdy and nice, it may be a little too form for me for a memory foam pillow but everything about this on the outset is nice, just didn't fit my body. Now it just hangs out all lonely wishing to have a head to support. Oh well.

I got the larger one, which is pretty close to regular pillow size. It's just as it looks - very nicely made with a wonderful cover. I put a pillow case on it, and it works fine. I chose this one because I like the idea of hypoallergenic bamboo memory foam, but most importantly, I wanted one with two options of contour height. My head is resting on it right now as I write this, and I cannot tell you how great it feels under my neck, which still hurts after a fall I took about six weeks ago. I've been suffering with back and neck pain and could not get comfortable to sleep, but this pillow not only perfectly cushions my neck when I'm lying on my back, but it gives surprisingly snug support when I sleep on my side and stomach as well, and that means everything to me! It comes rolled in a classy bag and takes a short while to expand, and it does emit a mild odor (which I can be a little fussy about) just out of the package, but I unzipped the cover and left it open for a day, and it was absolutely fine after that. Perfectly pleased with this pillow and am grateful to have this wonderful neck support. Highly recommend.

Hubby is a grinder in a foundry and works 7 days a week so he has lots of aches and pains. He began having trouble with his neck and it was keeping him from sleeping well. I have a memory foam pillow that I love so I suggested he try one also because they can help alleviate neck pain. We found the hypoallergenic bamboo memory foam pillow for a good price from comfy life and decided to try it. It does keep its form very well, as some memory foam pillows will lose their shape and become very flat. But for my husband's needs this pillow is just too firm and doesn't give at all. It is still a great price and product it just wasn't a fit for his personal need but for anyone wanting a good memory foam pillow that's nice and firm and holds its shape and also contours your neck but don't want to spend a fortune, this is the pillow for you!

This is a very firm pillow. Very very firm. But that doesn't mean it's not a good pillow. I'm a side and back sleeper. Apparently I switch back and forth a lot, because I would always wake up with neck pain from back sleeping on a firm side-sleeper pillow or from side sleeping on a shallower back-sleeper pillow. The short end of this pillow is the best of both worlds. It's firm enough that it supports my neck when side sleeping, but shallow enough that it supports my neck when back sleeping. The manufacturer recommends the taller side for taller people (I'm only 5'4").It was a bit daunting using it the first time because it's alarmingly hard. But somehow it works. It's definitely not one of those plush pillows your head sinks into and it feels like you're on a cloud. It sorta feels like you're lying on a brick at first. I eventually got used to it. I've been using it for about a month now, and it has nearly fixed the neck issues I've been having for about 2 years (and about 15 pillow trials). So, even though it's weird and hard, I have to recommend it for people who need neck support.

I really wanted to like this pillow because I've been walking up with a sore neck for about 6 months now so I decided to try a conform pillow. After reading several reviews I decided to go with this one. Unfortunately this pillow is way too firm! I'm still waking up with a sore neck now because the pillow is so hard I constantly toss and turn in my sleep due to not being able to get comfortable.There is no way to send this pillow back either because it comes rolled up in a zippered bag. There is no way to get it rolled back up once you take it out. Hate I wasted my money on this.I just wanted to update my review and say that the seller has great customer service, because of that I'm changing my review from one star to 3.

I have a similar pillow I bought from a different Amazon retailer that I have had for a while. I now keep that one in my semi truck and ordered this one to keep at home. However, I gave it to my wife to try for a night to see if she likes it and notices a difference. The next morning, she told me it made a huge difference in not only in her neck and back pain she felt in the mornings, but also the comfort of her sleep.I can imagine that results may vary for each individual, but for myself who has chronic back and neck problems after being in a couple collisions in my teenage years, a memory foam contour pillow has been heaven sent. Since my wife stole this one, I will be ordering another one today, since I notice the quality of my sleep much lower than that I get in my semi truck (which is quite surprising).No smell. No complaints. Anything is a step up from cheap $10 pillows from big box retailers, but this is on a whole different level of its own.

Its a comfortable pillow. However, I bought this one in particular because it advertised that you could sleep on your back, side or stomach. Well I could feel the strain on my neck as I tried to sleep on it while on my stomach and I was using the lower side. Sleeping or reading on my back I can feel the strain on my neck again. The only comfortable position for this pillow is on my side. And I expected since it was made from Memory Foam, like the pad on my mattress, that it wouldn't be so firm. That could be part of the problem with laying on my back and stomach, it feels like a soft rock.

I have had neck/back injuries and need a firm neck pillow to sleep comfortably through the night without waking due to the pain. This causes me to search for very firm versions of this type of pillow for neck support. I have used a few types throughout the years and when I recently moved I lost my old one which I thought was the firmest I have ever used; Until this one. This bamboo memory foam pillow does have some give as all of these do but overall is very firm. I found it to be the firmest memory foam neck pillow I have used to date and since that is what I wanted I highly recommend this. Many of these types of pillows are very soft and provide little support but not this one. I also DID NOT have the wet smell that some people said they had when they removed it from the plastic bag it comes in. I would highly recommend this as a comfortable but firm neck pillow.

Yep! I’m one of those! I read all of the reviews but I don’t write a lot of reviews. The reason I am writing this review is because I have finally slept!! I used to wake up every morning with neck pain and a pounding headache. Now I wake up rested. My last dental appt my dentist “prescribed” me a night time teeth guard so I wouldn’t clench my jaw anymore. It worked but I still grinded my teeth so bad I wore it down to nothing. I decided to try a different pillow. After reading reviews on this pillow (still reluctant that it was my pillow) I gave it try. I have slept SO much better!! My fit bit tells me so!😉 Honestly though, it has change my mornings for the better. I find myself hitting the snooze button a few too many times. I have changed nothing but my pillow!! I highly recommend this for anyone suffering from morning headaches and one sided neck pain!

I have been searching for the pillow that does not leave me with a stiff neck in the morning. Why is it so difficult to find that perfect pillow?! This new pillow has me hopeful that my hunt may be over. It is very comfortable and not too thick which seems to be my usual problem in finding that magic neck and head support. I've slept on it only one night and I am still getting used to it, but I did not have a headache this morning which is very encouraging. The pillow was cool and I didn't feel too hot while sleeping last night which is a huge plus. I am both a back and side sleeper, so finding the proper thickness is difficult to accommodate both positions. I am giving this pillow a five star because it is well-made, comfortable and cool. It has a soft removable cover with a nicely sewn-in zipper. looks like it will become my one and only.

On receiving the pillow I noticed a strong latexy smell after removing it from the packaging. I left the pillow by an open window for a day or so but even then the smell was pretty strong, so much so you wouldn't want to sleep with your face in it. However, completely unbidden, the president of Comfylife sent me an email a day after delivery, asking about the pillow, I responded candidly that the pillow had a strong smell. He then apologized profusely, explained that the company had gotten in a bad batch of pillows and they were trying to clear from inventory. He immediately sent me a new pillow that he had personally checked. The new pillow had much less of an odor, leaving it out overnight got rid of it.The second pillow was good, right size and firmness for me.
