For $600 - good value (read this twice)
1. first of all - its a $600 laptop.2. with that said - its a light weight, does NOT make noise (the humming noise) - which is a huge + for me.3. Silver color is nice.4. Machine is fast enough, boots up very quickly.5. Had gotten MS Home 10 edition, but then upgraded to ver 11.6. i have been using for a month so far and works great.7. I like dell and this one did not disappoint me8. I use for mainly for email, some excel, PPT etc.. I did NOT buy it for a high speed nor wanted big drive. (lately I try to keep ONLY essential items, there was a day i used to save every and all file, ... now my mottto is LESS is more - so HD size it good enough).Thank you Dell.

A couple of unpleasant surprises
I got this laptop to replace an HP that was so slow that it was next to impossible to use. The HP replaced a Lenovo that stopped working after a month. This is the only laptop I've ever had that has next to invisible keys. In some light they show up, but often they just can't be read. The other thing is that the keyboard is a half inch narrower than what I'm used to. I'm having a heck of a time adjusting to it, but I imagine I will as time goes by.

Unpredictable and troublesome.
Worst laptop ever.It starts humming loudly and freezes. I update it every week and it doesn't get better.Don't buy Dell!

Nice but.....
I have been a Dell customer for many years and have always enjoyed their products. However, I don't know if the following is a Dell problem or an Amazon problem. My brand-new laptop came with only an 8-month warranty, not the full year. What's up with that???Update: Spoke with Dell customer service and they stated that the warranty starts when they ship to Amazon warehousing. So, the laptops sit on the shelves until someone purchases one and the warranty depends upon how long the unit sat on the shelf. Example: If you receive a unit that has been in storage for 8 months, you will have less than half of the warranty left on your "brand new laptop" when you purchased it. The Dell representative has no interest in adjusting the warranty for the loss of the storage period.Amazon's and Dell's policies on laptop purchases is totally unfair to the customer! Being a loyal customer to Dell Tecnologies for 15 years and Amazon since the 1990's, and to be treated so unfairly is truly egregious!

Ir sucks
Do not but it. Believe me, it is the worst laptop you will have. May husband bought it, then sent it back for a system problem, and it came back with anotaré problem, and now Dell says they have to repair it again. I gave them the full price.

Disappointed with this laptop
I bought this computer expecting it to be of high quality. I have only been using it for a couple weeks, and it already has made some awful sounds. So far it made the worst sound right when I had it do an update, and I thought it was going to explode. The screen also sometimes goes crazy, and it just reminds me of the terrible Macbook Air I got from Best Buy that crashed on me a couple times. The only positive thing about this computer is that the fingerprint reader is optional, which of course it should be optional, because we are not living in the USSR, CCP or 1984 - yet. It's as if all the new computers being made are designed to barely last 2 years, and it's not like these things are getting any cheaper. I hope this laptop lasts me to end of the year, but I highly doubt it will. Please be hesitant about buying this laptop because it is a huge gamble, and you will regret spending hundreds of dollars for a dead laptop.
