Q: Jow do you clean the brush itself?

I use an air compressor with a low psi setting, (about 35 to 40 p.s.i.),this seems to work well for me.

Q: Is this brush supposed to be used in a circular motion following the grooves or across the grooves laterally to remove dust?

I quit using this brush. It doesn't help. If I brush the dust off one side of the LP it goes to the other side, and so forth. Doesn't matter what motion. I use a vacuum cleaner attachment I built with a 1 1/4" x 12" PVC tail-piece and stick-on velvet (the instructions were on-line somewhere) to vacuum LPs, then use a velvet brush (from Amazon) with G2 groovewasher spray (from Amazon) - reduces dust and seems to reduce static. My LPs are clean and sound good

Q: What's the difference between this and a regular barber hair dust brush?

I would think the barber brush is meant for hair and not records my dude, but if it's microfiber or something it might work. Don't blame me for any accidents if you use the barber brush tho

Q: does it come in a case?

No It doesn’t come in a case. But It is pretty good quality.
